Pier 39’s New Nightly Tree Lighting Show Kick Off | Nov. 21 – Jan. 1

PIER 39 is spreading holiday cheer on San Francisco’s waterfront. Pier 39 is unwrapping a new, nightly tree lighting show on its 60’ live Christmas tree at the top of each hour from 5 -10 pm, November 21, 2018 through January 1, 2019.

Synchronized to holiday music, the tree transforms into a kaleidoscope of swirling colors, adorned withthousands of specialty lights and ornaments. These dazzling tree lighting moments take center stage all season long.

$10 Giants Tickets on Sale for 2019 | AT&T Park

Super cheap Giants tickets for the 2019 season are going on sale on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. You can buy tickets for the entire season with many midweek tickets starting at just $10

Beginning at 10am on November 20, 2018 you can purchase $10 tickets online or in person at all Giants Dugout Store locations.

Cheap Tip: Head to the AT&T Park Giants Dugout Store if you want to purchase tickets with no service charges. Please note there may be long lines. You can also buy tickets online and in person at other Giants’ Dugout Stores but will have to pay ticketing fees & services charges. 

Please note that the ticket windows at Willie Mays Plaza will NOT be open for sales on November 20th.

With the Giants dynamic pricing structure, fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early to secure the best prices. Unlike previous years where ticket sales had a blackout period just after Christmas, for the 2019 season, tickets will be on continuous sale.

Season Opening: $1 Book Sale | SF Main Library

Starting in April, the San Francisco Public Library hosts weekly Wednesday Steps Sales, located at the Larkin Street entrance to the Main Library.

All books and media are just $1 or less each and all proceeds from Steps Sales benefit the San Francisco Public Library.

Free Redwood State Park Days | Second Saturdays

To celebrate 100 years of saving California’s iconic redwood forest, Save the Redwoods League and California State Parks are offering more than 16,000 free vehicle day-use passes to more than 40 redwood state parks on the second Saturday of each month in 2018. The passes cover day-use admission and parking fees.

The goal of Free Second Saturdays at Redwood State Parks is to reconnect the people of California with these magnificent natural legacies, to inspire visitors with the beauty and power of the redwoods, and to celebrate Save the Redwoods League’s 100-year conservation legacy.

When are new passes available?
Passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis at FreeRedwoodsDays.org 14 days prior. Some of the participating parks close by include Big Basin, Mount Tamalpais, Butano, Portola Redwoods, Sonoma Coast and many more.

Visitors without passes are welcome, but must pay the regular admission and parking rates. 

League staff will also be hosting free guided hikes at select parks.

Free Museum Admission Days in San Francisco

 

Many San Francisco museums offer free admission to their facilities at least once a month. During these days, you gain access to each museum’s permanent exhibits. Most of the monthly free admission days are on the first Sunday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of the month.

While some museums offer a free day every month, a handful of them offer free days just four to five times a year. These include the California Academy of Sciences and the Exploratorium.
